I’d like to have an open discussion with you all, regarding down town markets. Currently there are no trading licences available in town toward other places like bulling Wexford etc…

In my eyes; sometimes to go forward you have to go back.

Now more than ever – is a great time to reintroduce markets back to New Ross. The greenway is partly finished and more footfall should be coming to town.

Try to envision it; how nice would it be to stroll around town, come across markets and have a gander with a lovely takeaway coffee from The Cracked Tea Pot? Wouldn’t it be nice to stroll around and run into people and engaging with fellow residents?   How great would it be to go for a walk with your family or meet a friend and come across those random items for sale and bargaining with a market trader? It could also increase social interaction.

In my eyes – this would attract consumers from surrounding areas – whom many I have spoken with – would visit New Ross more if it had more to offer. It gives an easier chance to someone wanting to try their own business.

More importantly, it can encourage more local shopping – why? Because more is there for you to want to shop! New Ross needs more options.

Let me know what you all think. I’m interested to interact with you all in the comments below.

The last week – a huge amount of customers has interacted with me about the town – and for anyone that comes in – I really enjoy talking with you about your concerns and what you want to see happen in New Ross. Whether I am in the shop or out and about on the street – I am always there and I am always in town – everyone is welcome to chat to me about anything.
